Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager (132kv Substations) to join their UK Transmission and Distribution (T&D) team. This role involves project managing pre-construction and construction activities for large-scale high voltage infrastructure and grid connections, typically between 33kV and 132kv Projects range from feasibility and detailed design to procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of substations and associated infrastructure.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop HV and EHV project initial functional requirements into cost-effective engineering solutions.\nManage the development and delivery of HV and EHV projects, including cables, overhead lines, plant, and civil works.\nInterface with customers and coordinate with internal and external resources.\nUndertake the role of CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for HV and EHV projects.\nCommunicate effectively with internal engineering and industrial resources.\nCoordinate external service providers and manage commercial aspects.\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nMinimum HNC in Electrical Engineering.\nExperience managing large and complex HV and EHV substation projects from feasibility to energisation.\nStrong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution operations, including AIS/GIS switchgear, protection and control systems, power transformers, and overhead lines.\nOptioneering skills to select suitable substation configurations based on project requirements.\nExperience in project management of CAPEX and customer connection projects from initiation to project closure.\nDesign knowledge of both AIS & GIS substations up to 400kV.\nUnderstanding of engineering standards for HV and EHV plant and substations.\nExcellent understanding of H&S and CDM requirements for large-scale projects.\nAbility to undertake the role of 'Designer' and 'Principal Designer' under CDM regulations.\nAbility to interpret technical documentation related to the design of electrical substations.Benefits: \n\nCPD Routes to chartership or further education\nPaying up to £90k \nHybrid working \nMonday to Friday 37 hours per week \nPension Contribution\nCar allowance \nOpportunity to work client side\nVisa Sponsorhips available for current UK residents \nDon't quite meet all the criteria?
