Description\nCMS2 is a specialist equipment manufacturer supplying maritime atmosphere control systems and support services. CMS2 are experts in enabling high availability atmosphere management systems to generate breathable air for submariners, allowing boats to remain underwater for long periods of time. We do this by combining over sixty years of expertise with the latest technology and processes to design, build and support high quality systems and solutions. \n \nWe are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team to support in the creation of novel engineering solutions to support new product introduction as well as developing improvements to the existing product line.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nReporting to the Industrialisation Manager, you will manage any design improvement/obsolescence activities relating to the assigned projects, providing technical guidance in line with the Product Specification to the engineering resources assigned.\n\nManaging the flow of information between multiple departments.\n\nResponsible for implementing changes to maintain specifications & drawings.\n\nResponsible for creation and maintenance of Product Bills of Materials. \n\nReview the content of standard project documentation i.e.
technical, operation, maintenance manuals.\n\nReport on the technical content of the project to the Project Managers. This includes supporting multi-departmental reviews to ensure the right approach is being followed, and that any requirements for additional expertise are addressed. \n\nIdentify technical risks & provide support to the Project Managers and work on the appropriate strategies for risk management.\n\nSupport & mentor the more junior Project Engineers.\n\nSupport the Project Managers with technical queries from the customers & participate in customer communication.\n\nTrack activities to project plans and budgets, regularly reporting to the Project Managers on progress as required.\n\nSupport the business in providing information to aid the creation of proposals as required.\n\nProvide technical support for procurement throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely response to supplier queries.\n\nProvide support to SQE and Quality team as required to resolve quality issues, including raising formal request, fault finding and test support.\n\nProvide support to engineering design as required by the project.\n\nProvide support to technicians with issues/problems arising during the build cycle.\n\nProvide support to the Test Technicians and Commissioning Engineers as required by the project.\n\nSupport Site Engineers throughout off-site work with provision of information, materials and liaison with internal resources.\n\nEnsure project activities are delivered as defined by the Project Manager, including ensuring design reviews are held, FMEAs are conducted and appropriate test plans are in place.\nGeneral activities\n\nProvide a professional backup service for colleagues during peak times or during absence.\n\nMaintain continuous professional development to ensure knowledge is up to date.\n\nAct as an ambassador for the company in all interactions with customers and the public.\n\nCarry out any other ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the business.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nEssential \n\nHND or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Manufacturing Engineering or related subject.\n\nSubstantial experience of working in a manufacturing engineering environment.\n\nFlexibility, enthusiasm, self-motivated and able to work well under own initiative.\n\nAble to build long-term successful client partnerships, both internally and externally.\n\nRead & understand mechanical & electrical drawings.\n\nAble to read & use Gantt charts/project plans.\n\nPrevious experience of an ERP system.\n\nDecision-making/problem solving skills.\n\nStrong presentation skills, confident and professionally presented.\nDesirable \n\nExperience of working on multiply projects.\n\nPractical competence in mechanical / systems assembly.\n\nStrong communication skills.\n\nExperience of working within a Defence environment.\n\nKnowledge of ISO9000 or a similar QA system.\n\nRole travel requirements\nThe duties of this appointment relate to the UK, but you may be required to travel when required by the Company. It is not envisaged that you shall be required to work outside the UK for more than one month.\n \n Other requirements\n Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK\n Candidates must have passed UK security clearance to Security Check level or be able to obtain this level.
