Job Description
Senior Programme Manager (Project Lead)
Location: London (Hybrid / Remote)
Duration: 6 months contract
Rate: Competitive market rate (TBC)
Travel: Occasional travel to Europe and the US
Role overview
We are supporting a business-critical change programme requiring an experienced Senior Programme Manager / Project Lead to take ownership of a high‑profile workstream. This is a high‑stakes, leadership-facing role with significant visibility across the executive team, including regular engagement with the CFO.
You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability in a fast‑paced, complex environment. This role will suit someone who is confident operating at C‑suite level, comfortable challenging senior stakeholders, and thrives under pressure.
Key responsibilities
Own the end-to-end delivery of a defined workstream within a major transformation programme
Track progress against milestones, managing dependencies and risks across the programme
Maintain rigorous financial and operational data to support effective decision‑making
Provide the CFO with clear, accurate, and timely insights
Proactively identify and unblock issues, escalating only after pursuing pragmatic solutions
Challenge and hold senior stakeholders to account, including MD and C‑suite level
Operate with discretion in a programme requiring a high degree of confidentiality
Person specification
We are looking for a delivery‑oriented professional with strong financial acumen and experience operating in sensitive, complex change environments. Ideal background includes:
Private Equity – portfolio operations, value creation, or operating partner roles
or
Investment Banking – M&A or post‑transaction integration
Corporate Finance / Transformation – with direct exposure to CFO‑led programmes
Key Skills & Attributes
Highly analytical with advanced Excel skills (non‑negotiable)
Commercially sharp with a finance‑first mindset
Exceptionally organised and relentlessly delivery‑focused
Resilient, confident, and effective in high‑pressure environments
Able to influence, challenge, and push back without formal authority
Discreet, professional, and trusted with sensitive information
