Description Amazon is seeking a Senior Program Manager to join the Tax team within the Finance organization. Our program management team leads the charge and partners with teams across Amazon to plan, coordinate, and implement mission‑critical projects resulting from operating a global business in a time of unprecedented change. Large multi‑nationals are facing a period of unprecedented tax reform. This reform will have a significant impact on all business units competing in the global market and presents an exciting and challenging role allowing the right person a chance to be part of a company and a team making history. Successful candidates will have experience in at least two of the following three disciplines (and can become well versed in all three to bridge across our diverse group of stakeholders):
Finance (specifically Tax and/or Accounting) Program Management Technology
The candidate needs to be able to easily understand the business line, technical and finance/accounting/tax disciplines, and the impacts of each on the project. We are open to hire across Barcelona, London, and Manchester. Key Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with project owners and key stakeholders to define and refine project objectives and deliverables. Obtain and drive clarity on workstream requirements coming from one or more impacted functions and demonstrate a solid working knowledge of requirements to project stakeholders and sponsors. Build workstream project plans and identify workstream dependencies during the planning process; support the resource planning process. Responsible for creating and maintaining a project SharePoint landing page used by the cross‑functional core team. Liaise with cross‑functional workstream participants consisting of Amazon Businesses, Tax, Accounting, Treasury, HR, Legal, Finance Operations, and technical teams to provide a comprehensive status update to the program lead related to the assigned workstream. Identify areas of risk to the project scope or timeline and elevate to program leadership in a timely manner. Dive deep where needed to resolve blocking issues during project execution, testing, launch and cutover. Execute project closeout processes and practices, ensuring all project artifacts are finalized and archived as appropriate. Lead cross‑functional teams through workstream retrospective to drive improvements into the process; own and drive process improvements. Support the development and delivery of tooling, templates, process improvements, and trainings to varied audiences within and external to the PM team. Engage with customer, sales, and Service partner teams to identify payment process gaps and streamline. Provide oversight and guidance to cross‑functional project teams, planning and executing complex projects across multiple organizations and stakeholders. Analyze data to identify pain points related to the customer experience and create plans, goals and priorities to address identified pain points. Develop mechanisms to measure success and adoption of the initiatives within the business. Foster strong relationships with teams, leading and influencing others effectively to achieve cross‑functional alignment on goals and successful product/service launch execution.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in program or project management. Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements. Experience owning program strategy, end‑to‑end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field. Experience leading process improvements.
