Job Description
Socode are partnering with an innovative technology company developing advanced engineered products within a fast-paced R&D environment. As development activity increases, they’re looking to bring in a Senior Engineer to lead testing and validation activities across new product programmes.
This is a hands-on role combining experimental work with structured analysis. You’ll take ownership of test activities, ensuring new products meet performance, quality and reliability expectations before release.
What will you be doing?
• Leading test and validation activities within new product development programmes
• Designing and executing experiments to verify performance against requirements
• Running hands-on testing in a laboratory or development environment
• Analysing results and producing clear, structured technical reports
• Investigating issues and identifying root causes across complex systems
• Operating and maintaining specialist test equipment and setups
• Contributing to continuous improvement of test methods and processes
• Supporting engineering teams with data-driven insights and recommendations
What are they looking for?
• Experience in a test, validation or development environment within engineering
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach
• Hands-on mindset, comfortable working directly with equipment and systems
• Experience contributing to development or research-based projects
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively
• Clear communication skills, able to present technical findings
• Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related STEM subject
Nice to have
• Experience within R&D or new product introduction environments
• Familiarity with structured engineering tools such as FMEA or similar approaches
• Exposure to complex systems involving fluid, mechanical or electronic elements
• Experience creating technical documentation such as reports or procedures
