Advanced Specialist, Product ManagementDrive the development and reform of Science qualifications, translating insight into high-impact, teacher-trusted products that deliver real outcomes for learners.About the RoleAs an Advanced Specialist (Product Manager) for Science Qualifications, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering Pearson’s qualifications portfolio from concept through to launch and ongoing lifecycle management.This is a highly strategic and collaborative role, combining product management, customer insight, and subject expertise to develop qualifications, assessments, and supporting resources that meet the evolving needs of teachers and learners.You will work closely with subject specialists, assessment experts, and cross-functional teams to ensure our qualifications are market-leading, commercially successful, and trusted by educators.Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & DevelopmentDevelop and contribute to subject strategy, using customer and market insight to inform product directionCreate compelling, market-leading qualification propositions with clear differentiationBuild business cases for new and existing qualifications across the product lifecycleTrack competitor activity and identify opportunities for innovation and growthQualification Design & DeliveryScope, design, and develop qualifications and sample assessments aligned to regulatory and customer requirementsSupport the development, submission, and approval of qualifications, ensuring alignment with strategy and standardsWork with internal and external experts to develop high-quality content, assessments, and supporting materialsCustomer & Market InsightDevelop a deep understanding of teacher, learner, and centre needs through ongoing research and engagementMaintain strong relationships with subject stakeholders to inform product development and continuous improvementMonitor education trends, policy changes, and market dynamics to inform decision-makingLifecycle Management & Commercial PerformanceManage qualifications across their lifecycle, including launch, growth, and redevelopment decisionsSupport forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking for qualificationsContribute to annual planning cycles, including one- and three-year forecastsCustomer Experience & EngagementDeliver a best-in-class customer experience through events, support services, and ongoing engagementPlan and deliver customer-facing events, networks, and training initiativesContinuously improve customer experience through feedback, insight, and performance dataCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Sales, Marketing, Assessment, and Product teams to deliver integrated go-to-market strategiesCollaborate across global and UK teams to support portfolio growth and alignmentChampion a customer-first mindset across all activitiesSkills & ExperienceExperience in product management, portfolio management, or a similar roleStrong understanding of education, assessment, or qualifications (Science specialism desirable)Ability to translate customer insight and market data into clear product strategiesExperience developing or launching products, services, or qualificationsStrong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authorityCommercial awareness, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance trackingExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsStrong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearlyHighly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWhy Join Pearson?At Pearson, we are the world’s learning company, operating in more than 70 countries.
