OverviewThe edge Infrastructure Product & Engineering team design, develop and operate all infrastructure used by Tesco Technology across our offices, stores and distribution centres. This encompasses multiple domains; connectivity, end-user computing, CI/CD and observability. This includes both 3rd party and internally developed infrastructure applications and infrastructure that support the wider Tesco business.This is a rare opportunity to take the reigns on our edge compute platform strategy. This is a rare opportunity to take the reigns on our edge compute platform strategy - If you have experience with edge computing, distributed systems or large-scale compute environments we would love to hear from you!This is a hybrid position with the flexibility to work from our Farringdon office in London.You will be responsible forWill evolve and drive the product vision, strategy, and the long-term roadmapWill proactively partner with peers and senior stakeholders to set the future direction of my product as part of the wider business strategyUnderstand key user personas, customers & stakeholders for the product and their pain pointsAccountable for the performance/adoption of the product and work towards achieving the Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs)Prioritise work and decisively resolve trade-offs with peers and senior leadersEffectively document and explain new requirements to the engineering team using user stories with acceptance criteria and help the team in breaking down complex work into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered fasterSteer sprint/release planning sessions by working with the engineering counterparts to plan sprints/releases that deliver maximum business value in least effortDrive the acceptance and adoption of ideas and improvements with product teams and engineering stakeholdersPrioritise, coordinate and communicate the resolution of live product issues independentlyProvide leadership and direction to cross functional team(s) on short-term tasks/near-term prioritiesBe the subject matter expert for my product building on my history of delivering value to customersYou will needUnderstand distributed edge environments and the associated challenges they bringExperienced in delivering virtualisation platforms that meet consumer and business needs, specifically VMware and ProxmoxSkilled in building automation and orchestration capabilities to deploy software & hardware in distributed environmentsActively engaged in market research, leveraging insights to shape product vision and strategic direction in line with business, technology goals, and customer expectationsSkilled in applying various data types appropriately, knowing when to use quantitative and/or qualitative dataAble to coach colleagues across disciplines to adopt a product mindset, enabling value-centric decision makingWhat’s in it for you?We’re all about the little helps.
