Role: Senior Product Control Analyst - Gas & Power

Location: London (hybrid)

Type: Initial 6 months FTC, strong scope to convert to perm

Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE

An established and fast-growing energy trading business is seeking a Senior Product Control Analyst to join their high-performing team. This is a key role focused on daily P&L reporting and analysis of complex Gas and Power trading activities across UK and European markets.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Product Control Analyst include:

• Prepare and review daily P&L reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to key stakeholders
• Analyse and explain P&L drivers, working closely with traders, risk, and finance teams
• Perform month-end close processes in collaboration with Finance and Risk Control
• Review trading portfolios and new deals to ensure appropriate valuation and recognition
• Provide insight and commentary on trading results to senior management
• Support continuous improvement of controls, systems and reporting processes

Key Requirements of the Senior Product Control Analyst include:

• Proven experience in a product control, P&L or financial reporting role within a commodity trading environment
• Strong understanding of gas and power markets and associated trading instruments
• Solid knowledge of P&L attribution, valuation techniques, and trading lifecycle
• Excellent analytical and Excel skills; experience with ETRMs and reporting tools is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with commercial and control teams
• Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
