About us
GRIDSERVE is accelerating the energy transition by delivering sustainable energy solutions.
Overview
As Senior Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in delivering effective procurement across GRIDSERVE’s infrastructure and construction projects. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Construction, you will be responsible for managing sourcing, supplier relationships, and commercial agreements that support high-quality, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods and services. You will work closely with project, engineering, finance, legal, and operational teams to ensure procurement activity is aligned with commercial goals, ESG standards, and business priorities.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strategic mindset, commercial awareness, and strong stakeholder engagement to drive value, mitigate risk, and support the growth of GRIDSERVE’s charging infrastructure.
The role
- Support the development and execution of procurement strategies aligned with GRIDSERVE’s infrastructure and commercial objectives.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities across CapEx, construction, services, and operational categories, ensuring quality, cost, and ESG standards are met.
- Lead supplier selection and evaluation processes, including issuing RFIs/RFPs, analysis, negotiation, and onboarding.
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and commercial terms in coordination with legal, commercial, and delivery teams.
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships, conducting performance reviews to drive service and innovation improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including engineering, operations, legal, finance, and project delivery to forecast procurement needs and resolve delivery risks.
- Ensure all procurement activity complies with internal policies, governance frameworks, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reporting, utilising Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and procurement tools to support decision-making.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate disruption.
- Support continuous improvement across procurement processes, systems, and supplier performance.
- Contribute to procurement capability development within the team, providing mentorship and sharing best practice.
You’ll bring
- Significant procurement experience in a senior or advanced procurement role, ideally within construction, infrastructure, energy, or technology-led sectors.
- Proven success in sourcing, supplier negotiation, contract management, and commercial risk mitigation.
- Experience working across multiple procurement categories including CapEx, construction, and professional services.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement modules (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Experience incorporating sustainability and ESG considerations into supply chain and supplier evaluation is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across functions.
- High level of commercial acumen and ability to align procurement with business priorities.
- Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach.
- Strong analytical skills to assess supplier proposals, manage risks, and optimise value.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Confident negotiator with a professional and collaborative style.
- Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is highly desirable.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in procurement, commercial, or leadership areas.
