Senior Procurement Consultant – AECOM Location: Leeds, England, United Kingdom Job Overview As part of the AECOM Advisory Services business unit, the Strategic Procurement team develops and executes procurement strategies to achieve client success. You will collaborate with clients to design optimal delivery models, contract strategies, commercial models and routes to market for infrastructure projects. What you’ll do
Provide high‑quality procurement advice and support to AECOM’s infrastructure clients on flagship projects. Lead or support sector‑leading projects and programmes as the strategic procurement subject matter expert. Contribute to expanding and improving our service offering. Collaborate with colleagues to deliver quality outcomes and high‑value multi‑discipline solutions. Continuously develop your expertise and support client success.
Key responsibilities of the role
Provide procurement advice, including understanding client drivers and project success factors, and guide them through designing the optimum delivery model, contract strategy, commercial model and route to market. Manage the competitive procurement process – market engagement, supplier shortlisting, tender document development, tender management, evaluation and negotiation. Advise on commercial aspects, category management and performance management. Support work‑winning activity, including contribution to proposal documentation. Support the development of AECOM’s overall strategic procurement service offering.
Qualifications
Significant post‑qualification knowledge and experience (7+ years) leading procurement of complex construction and infrastructure projects. Experience managing the procurement lifecycle from sourcing through contract management and supplier engagement. Proven project/programme management experience with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Awareness of standard form contracts, including NEC. Strong people skills and effective communication, able to influence and establish trusted advisor status. Experience in category management and contract management, including advising on Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators. Awareness of procuring under the Public Contract Regulations or equivalent. Passionate about individual, team and client success.
