Senior Procurement Consultant (Corporate Services) ScottishPower HQ, Glasgow (hybrid) Salary: up to £56,000 + up to 10% bonus and other excellent benefits Employment Type: Permanent, full-time Closing Date: 24th April 2026 Overview The Senior Procurement Consultant will lead and deliver procurement tendering activities for capital works, services, and frameworks, with a specific focus on NEC3/NEC4 contracts. The role requires robust procurement and commercial governance from strategy creation and tendering through to contract award and, where appropriate, contract management. You will provide advice on sourcing and purchasing activities to stakeholders up to Director level and liaise with colleagues in the UK and globally to ensure best value from a common supply chain. Responsibilities
Supporting the management of commercial aspects for key areas of business activity Assisting in the development and implementation of a procurement plan for a particular business area, establishing future contracts to deliver the requirements of the business function Developing and implementing contract strategies and associated tenderer selection in liaison with the business and SP Credit Risk, whilst considering wider Iberdrola Procurement issues Building constructive partnerships with business managers and other stakeholders Working closely with colleagues across Iberdrola to exploit global procurement synergies, facilitate benchmarking, and optimise negotiation strategies Leading the tendering process and negotiation of commercial aspects of contracts to deliver the SP Business Plan objectives, mitigating commercial risk and ensuring compatibility of technical and commercial elements; preparing and negotiating commercial schedules Striving to achieve cost reduction and best conditions through competitive, transparent procurement processes Preparing approval papers and leading obtaining of authorisations for contracts, ensuring acceptability to Business Unit, Compliance, Credit Risk, Insurance and Legal Providing contractual support and advice to internal stakeholders during the post-contract award phase to mitigate and resolve claims or contractor grievances Representing the Company in meetings with stakeholders and third parties on procurement-related issues Identifying and recommending strategies for improvements in value and, where appropriate, addressing new technologies or new business activities Extending the supply chain by identifying and pre-qualifying potential new suppliers Delivering high-level corporate governance by ensuring compliance with Iberdrola/ScottishPower procurement policies, ethical code, and anti-bribery requirements
What You'll Bring
Knowledge of best practice procurement principles, practices, and processes, including tactical and strategic procurement Knowledge of supplier selection, pre-qualification, and tendering for high value/risk contracts, mainly capital works, services, and frameworks, focusing on NEC3/NEC4 contracts Strong commercial contract and negotiation experience, leading full or part of contract negotiations Strong self-performance management with a focus on delivery; ability to balance quality, cost, and time; track record of delivery within agreed timescales Good understanding of financial, commercial, and business principles and risk mitigation; sufficient knowledge of contract law; ability to seek appropriate legal advice Influencing and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, persuade, challenge, and build credibility internally and externally Strong computer system skills (MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and experience with purchasing systems (SAP and SAP Ariba) Public procurement experience (desired) Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts (desired)
Minimum Criteria
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with recent experience dealing with tenders and contracts of equivalent value and complexity as the role (£350K-£50M) Demonstrable track record in negotiating and closing high value contracts Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong numeracy skills and proficiency in MS Excel
