Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer – Building Services Consultancy\n\nVertical Recruitment are working exclusively with an established M&E design consultancy with offices across the UK. The business delivers high-quality mechanical, electrical, and sustainable engineering solutions across a wide range of building sectors. Known for its technical expertise, collaborative culture, and innovative approach to design, the consultancy offers an excellent environment for professional growth and career progression.\n\nThey are currently delivering some of the UK’s most exciting projects, including the biggest residential scheme in the country, the tallest residential tower in Yorkshire, and a series of new build schools nationwide.\n\nThe team is now looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join their South Manchester or city centre office.\n\nThis is a key opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys both hands-on design and client interaction.

You’ll take ownership of electrical design delivery while representing the business in a client-facing capacity, building strong relationships with architects, developers, and end clients.\n\nFor the right person, this role offers a balance of technical design responsibility and client leadership, along with a genuine route for progression into senior leadership.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead electrical design on a variety of building services projects from concept through to completion\n\nAct as a client-facing representative, attending meetings, developing briefs, and providing technical guidance\n\nProduce, review, and coordinate high-quality design outputs, ensuring integration with other disciplines\n\nMentor junior engineers and support the wider team with technical knowledge and best practice\n\nContribute to proposals, bids, and business development activities where required\n\nEnsure compliance with regulations and industry standards, maintaining a focus on sustainable design\n\nManage project resources and support the financial performance of allocated projects\n\nAbout You\n\nDegree-qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)\n\nChartered or working toward CEng status with CIBSE or IET\n\n7–10 years’ experience within a UK building services consultancy\n\nStrong technical design skills with a proven ability to deliver across multiple sectors\n\nExcellent communication and client-facing skills, able to build long-term professional relationships\n\nConfident managing project delivery and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary package: £55K–£65K depending on experience\n\nAnnual bonus and comprehensive benefits package\n\nFlexible and hybrid working arrangements\n\nOpportunity to lead on high-profile, diverse projects\n\nSupportive culture with clear progression opportunities toward Associate and beyond
