Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer (Building Services)

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver electrical engineering designs in line with client expectations.
• Collaborate within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) team to provide design and technical advice.
• Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources to meet technical, commercial and delivery targets.
• Work independently with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of the discipline.
• Interpret client needs and drive the overall feasibility study for the project.
• Supervise the completion of detailed designs and the work of other engineers.
• Produce detailed performance specifications for the discipline, subject to review.
• Develop and line‑manage junior staff.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

• A proven track record of delivering UK building services MEP projects of varying scale and sector.
• Strong client, contractor and design team engagement skills in technical discussions.
• Ability to sketch, communicate and detail technical work graphically.
• In‑depth knowledge of regulations and ability to demonstrate this through calculations.
• Proficiency with electrical design software, including Revit MEP and BIM360.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc/MEng in an applicable engineering discipline.
• CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council chartership or working toward it.
• Revit MEP training relevant to the discipline.

• Based in the Leeds office (Wellington Place) with easy commuting options.
• Work with a highly experienced Northern Region Building Services team spanning Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh.
