Morson are recruiting for Senior to Principal Ecologists to join our expanding environmental team based in the vibrant centre of Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your ecological career within a supportive, friendly and multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.You will work across a wide range of projects, gaining start-to-finish project involvement, responsibility and opportunities to help shape and grow our ecology services.We offer a flexible working culture, with a balance of office, site and home-based working.What We Offer;Competitive salary circa £30-40K+, depending on experience28 days holiday (including bank holidays) + 1 additional day per year (up to 5 days)2 paid volunteer days per yearCompany pension schemeHealth insuranceProfessional memberships paid (e.g., CIEEM)Bespoke training and career development planA supportive, collaborative team environmentKey Responsibilities;Lead and deliver ecological surveys in line with British Standards and industry best practiceOversee protected species surveys, data collection and mitigation designPrepare high-quality reports including PEAs, EcIAs, species assessments and mitigation strategiesProvide ecological support to multi-disciplinary project teamsAssist with ecological clerk-of-works servicesAttend and lead meetings, site inspections and fieldwork activitiesMentor junior team members (Senior level) or manage team development (Principal level)Support business development, bidding and tender submissionsContribute to the delivery of high-quality ecological outcomes across a variety of sectors including infrastructure, utilities, development and conservationAbout You;Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related disciplineCIEEM membership (Associate, Full or eligible)Experience delivering ecological surveys and assessmentsGood knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy and ecological best practiceStrong species identification skills (botanical or protected species)Experience preparing high-quality ecological reportsUnderstanding of health & safety and risk assessmentStrong communication, organisation and client-facing skillsProficient in report writing and data management (GIS beneficial)Full UK driving licence and willingness to travelAble to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamIf you're passionate about ecology and want to be part of a growing, supportive consultancy environment, we'd love to hear from you.Please submit your CV to apply.JBRP1_UKTJ
