OverviewSenior Principal Business Development - Merchant PaymentsResponsible for driving company card acceptance growth, through a direct to merchant sales approach, in key verticals within the UK. The role involves building and maintaining a robust pipeline of new sales opportunities, engagement with merchants to drive company acceptance take-up, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure the sales cycle is completed & is delivering key KPI’s in acceptance.Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.ResponsibilitiesDrive company card acceptance growth through direct to merchant sales in key UK verticals.Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new sales opportunities.Engage with merchants to drive company acceptance take-up.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the sales cycle is completed and delivers key KPIs in acceptance.Actively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.Identify leads, develop proposals, respond to RFPs and negotiate agreements direct to UK merchants, to maximize network acceptance.Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to close deals.Strategically identify and create innovative business cases to win new merchant acceptance deals with internal stakeholder buy-in (Pricing, Risk, AML, etc.).Collaborate with internal teams and gather feedback from customers or prospects to identify, develop, and implement new sales opportunities.Develop strong relationships to maintain and grow account relationships with internal and external partners to meet volume and revenue goals.Participate in industry exhibitions and conferences.
