Senior Planner\n Location: London\n Sector: Civil Engineering | Infrastructure (Water, Transport, Energy)\n Salary: £65,000 - £75,000\n Type: Permanent\n\nWe're working with a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to recruit a Senior Planner to support the delivery of infrastructure projects across Manchester and the North West.\n\nProjects range from framework-based works to bespoke and reactive schemes, typically valued between £200k and £10m+. This role plays a key part in driving programme performance, ensuring robust planning and supporting successful project delivery.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Senior Planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing and maintaining project programmes across multiple live schemes, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.\n\nYou will work closely with delivery teams, providing insight into programme performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving improvements across planning processes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPlanning & Programme Management\n\nDevelop and maintain detailed project programmes across all stages\nEnsure programmes reflect full project scope, resources and constraints\nMonitor critical path, key milestones and overall programme performance\nUpdate short-term plans, progress reports and construction programmes \n\nProject Support & Delivery\n\nSupport tender, pre-construction and live project planning activities\nWork collaboratively with delivery teams to establish efficient methodologies\nAttend site visits and progress meetings to monitor delivery\nIntegrate subcontractor programmes into the main project programme \n\nRisk & Change Management\n\nIdentify risks and opportunities within project programmes\nDevelop mitigation strategies and advise delivery teams\nAnalyse programme impacts and manage change in line with NEC requirements \n\nReporting & Analysis\n\nProduce programme reports, dashboards and lookahead schedules\nManage reporting requirements including monthly submissions\nDevelop 4D planning outputs to support project visualisation and delivery\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nEssential\n\nStrong experience in planning within civil engineering or infrastructure projects\nAdvanced knowledge of Primavera P6\nStrong understanding of NEC contracts and programme requirements\nExperience developing and managing detailed project programmes\nAbility to communicate complex planning information clearly\nStrong organisational and analytical skills \n\nDesirable\n\nExperience with Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC)\nSite-based experience with a good understanding of project delivery\nDegree in Civil Engineering, Construction or related discipline\n\nWhat's On Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\nLong-term secured workload across major infrastructure projects\nOpportunity to work on varied and complex schemes\nClear progression within a growing planning function\nSupportive and collaborative working environment
