Job Description
Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer who will be the Technical Lead for Tooling Equipment. Candidates will ideally be based in Derby and will be engaged on a permanent basis.\n As a Technical Lead, you will be involved in developing an engineering capability with responsibility for managing and delivering tooling engineered solutions. This work supports current and future tooling requirements for the nuclear defence sector.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n?
Leading engineering teams from FEED Concept through to Detail Design, with or management of technical files containing all required documentation.\n? Support development and growth of a tooling capability within a growing client base.\n? SQEP assess scopes of work from client and deploy within the engineering team.\n?
Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including client representatives.\n? Apply current Legislative Regulations (e.g. LOLER, PUWER, CDM Regulation, Machinery Directive, PED) and respective Engineering Standards (ASME, BS, EN).\n??
Deliver tooling equipment via DfM (Design for Manufacture) within the Supply Chain and maintain a track record of managing the supplier as an Intelligent Customer.Experience / Qualifications:\n\n? Demonstrable evidence (3yrs+) of managing and delivering engineering projects in tooling-related industries, including experience in managing and developing multi-discipline teams.\n?? Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage engineering teams and interface effectively with multiple levels of internal and client stakeholders.\n?
Proficiency in a CAD system (NX) and PLMs (Teamcenter) to manage the tooling delivery team and their deliverables.\n? Experience providing technical authorship within a Bid proposal process and Bid management experience.\n? Experience in estimating, planning, and budgeting for multi-discipline programmes of work.\n??
Able to demonstrate nuclear professionalism and best practices or experience in a highly regulated sector.\n? Working knowledge of regulatory compliance to Nuclear Industry standards, with desirable experience delivering plant & systems.\n? Experience defining and managing Requirements Capture, Validation, and Verification.\n?
Ideally experienced in nuclear industry tooling: operational tooling, bespoke jigs, tools and fixtures, lifting and handling equipment, and tooling for transportation and storage protection.\n?? Experience applying current Legislative Regulations (LOLER, PUWER, CDM Regulation, Machinery Directive, PED) and Engineering Standards (ASME, BS, EN).\n?? Good understanding of UKCA Marking (CE marking), Security and Safety Classifications, QA/QC grading for Tooling.\n?
Experience delivering tooling equipment via DfM within the Supply Chain and managing suppliers as an Intelligent Customer.\n?
