This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for an experienced engineer who enjoys ownership, problem-solving and delivering real outcomes.Youll work across BAU support and project delivery, acting as a trusted technical presence on site and a go-to escalation point for complex network challenges.About the roleThis is a second-line and project-focused role, combining technical depth with strong customer engagement.Youll be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues, delivering network projects end-to-end, and ensuring the customers environment remains secure, stable and well-documented.Youll operate with confidence and autonomy, knowing when to take the lead and when to collaborate with senior colleagues and youll play a key role in guiding and mentoring a more junior engineer on site.This role is based primarily at a customer site in Nuneaton and requires someone who is comfortable being visible, accountable and trusted by stakeholders.Key responsibilities as a Senior Network and Security Engineer: Act as a technical escalation point for complex network and security incidentsTroubleshoot and resolve network issues while managing priorities and SLAsDeliver network projects end-to-end, from design through to implementation, commissioning and UATConfigure, deploy and support enterprise network infrastructure, including:Juniper switching, routing and firewallsAruba wireless controllers and access pointsLead wireless deployment, optimisation and troubleshootingOwn patching, upgrades and configuration changes across the estateMaintain clear, accurate network documentation and live ticket updatesBuild strong working relationships with customer stakeholders through clear, confident communicationMentor and guide a junior engineer, supporting their technical developmentWork independently on site while collaborating with wider Intercity delivery teamsKey Experience:This role is suited to an experienced network engineer who is confident working in a customer environment and comfortable owning complex technical delivery.Youll bring: Strong, hands-on experience in enterprise networking, with at least 2+ years in a dedicated networking roleProven experience working with Juniper and Aruba technologiesThe ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues under pressureExperience delivering technical projects alongside BAU supportExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA structured, methodical approach to troubleshooting and documentationConfidence working independently while contributing as part of a wider teamA proactive mindset and a genuine interest in continuous learningQualifications JNCIA, ACNT or a relevant degree (or equivalent practical experience)What We Offer: 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), with entitlement increasing by one day for each full calendar year employed, up to a maximum of five days.Annual pay reviews.Holiday buy scheme.All-company bonus scheme.Death in service cover.Employee assistance programme.Company pension.Active social calendar.A strong focus on developing our people.About The CompanyIntercity Technology provides reliable and secure technologies in communications, cloud, and managed services, with a big difference Intercity is a technology solutions partner that isnt all about tech.
