Senior Mechanical Preconstruction Estimator High-End Commercial Fit-Out Contractor £70,000 – £90,000 + package

A well-established, design-led fit-out contractor is seeking a Senior Mechanical Preconstruction Estimator to support its growing pipeline of high-value commercial projects.

This role sits at the front end of project delivery, focusing on mechanical cost planning, subcontractor engagement, and commercial risk management across complex fit-out schemes.

Unlike traditional estimating roles, the position is less focused on detailed take-offs and more centred around strategic input, procurement support, and technical evaluation.

Key responsibilities:

* Develop mechanical cost plans from early-stage and incomplete design information

* Analyse and benchmark MEP subcontractor tenders

* Support two-stage tendering and preconstruction processes

* Identify commercial risks, gaps, and value engineering opportunities

* Provide input on buildability, sequencing, and procurement strategy

* Work closely with internal preconstruction and delivery teams

Candidate requirements:

* Experience as a Mechanical Estimator or Senior Estimator

* Background within an MEP contractor or building services consultancy

* Strong understanding of mechanical packages and associated costs

* Ability to review and challenge subcontractor pricing
