Job Description

Senior Mechanical / HVAC Project Manager \n\n Manchester (within 1 hours commute) \n\nAs a Senior Mechanical / HVAC Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of medium-to-large-scale mechanical and HVAC projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and safety standards. This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent client communication, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and manage full project life cycle - from design review and planning to installation, commissioning, and handover.\n\nOversee all mechanical and HVAC works including ventilation, heating, cooling, chilled water, boilers, pipework, duct-work, and associated systems.\n\nManage project budgets, financial forecasting, cost control, and commercial reporting.\n\nCoordinate subcontractors, engineers, suppliers, and site teams to ensure seamless project delivery.\n\nConduct site inspections, progress meetings, and quality assurance checks.\n\nEnsure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and H&S requirements.\n\nBuild strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, acting as the main point of contact throughout the project.\n\nIdentify and resolve technical or operational challenges proactively.\n\nContribute to value engineering, tendering input, and project planning activities.\n\nAbout You\n\nYou will be an experienced mechanical or HVAC professional with a strong background in delivering building services projects.\n\nEssential Skills & Experience\n\nProven track record as a Mechanical Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within HVAC or building services.\n\nStrong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC plant, controls, pipework, and associated services.\n\nDemonstrable experience leading projects of high value.\n\nCapable of managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.\n\nExcellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.\n\nStrong commercial awareness and familiarity with project financials.\n\nComprehensive understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards.\n\nDesirable\n\nHNC/HND, Degree, or trade background in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services.\n\nExperience within specialist sectors such as healthcare, education, industrial, clean rooms, or data centres.\n\nSMSTS, CSCS, and relevant safety qualifications.\n\nWA Consultants is an Employment Business and an Employment Agency as described within The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003
