Senior Mechanical Estimator
Salary: £85,000 – £95,000
Location: West London / Hayes (Office-based) + site visits as required (all London based sites)
Type: Full-time, permanent

A leading Building Services Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team. This is a senior role within an established M&E business, offering long-term stability, strong career progression, and the chance to influence and improve estimating processes across multiple projects.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key part in securing new business and ensuring tenders are prepared accurately, competitively, and in line with company standards. Responsibilities include:
* Preparing, analysing and submitting mechanical tenders across a diverse range of building services projects.
* Carrying out detailed take-offs, cost build-ups, and analytical estimating.
* Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
* Managing supplier and subcontractor enquiries to obtain competitive and compliant quotations.
* Identifying risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options during pre-construction.
* Liaising with internal teams, senior leadership, clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
* Presenting commercial and technical aspects of tenders for director-level approval.
* Supporting handover processes to delivery teams with clarity and accurate documentation.
* Contributing to the development of estimating systems, cost libraries and process improvements.
* Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Extensive experience in mechanical estimating within building services/M&E contracting.
* Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods.
* Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings and specifications confidently.
* Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of tendering processes.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
* A proactive, organised and detail-driven approach to managing multiple bids.
