Job Description
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services London
I'm working with a long-established building services consultancy with close to 40 years of industry experience , who are continuing to grow their mechanical engineering capability and are now looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer into their London team.
My client delivers a broad range of building services solutions across mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, sprinkler systems and specialist service installations. In recent years, they have also developed a strong reputation within automated warehousing and e-commerce distribution , delivering complex projects across general merchandise, fashion and food distribution sectors.
This role would suit an experienced mechanical design engineer who enjoys working on technically demanding projects, has strong knowledge of large-scale systems, and is comfortable leading projects from concept through to completion.
The Role On behalf of my client, I'm keen to speak with engineers who can demonstrate:

\n Proven experience delivering major mechanical design projects within building services
\n
Strong knowledge of district and large-scale heating systems \n
\n
Experience designing mechanical systems for large leisure, commercial, retail and industrial developments \n
\n
A solid understanding of integrated building design and multi-disciplinary coordination
\n
Confidence coordinating closely with electrical, structural and architectural teams
\n
A genuine interest in sustainable design and low-energy solutions \n
\n
Experience leading projects from inception through to completion , either independently or managing teams
\n
Practical site exposure, including inspections and surveys \n
\n
A working understanding of QA systems and commercial considerations that influence design decisions
\n
\n
Technical & Professional Requirements My client is looking for someone who brings:

\n Strong capability in mechanical specifications, design, and drawings across a range of building types
\n
Good knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice
\n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office \n
\n
Competent use of internationally recognised mechanical design software \n
\n
An up-to-date approach to IT systems, technical methodologies and information sources \n
\n
A thorough understanding of current British and industry standards \n
\n
The ability to prioritise workloads , manage competing deadlines and support team delivery
\n
\n
