We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a global company based in Buckinghamshire that makes high-tech lab instruments used in science, healthcare, and environmental testing. You’ll help design and build the next of precision equipment that scientists rely on every day.
What You’ll Do as a Senior Mechanical Engineer

Design mechanical parts and systems for high-precision instruments, including moving mechanisms, structures, and thermal systems.
*
Work closely with teams across software, electronics, optics, and manufacturing to make sure designs work in the real world.
*
Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD, and make sure parts fit together perfectly.
*
Test prototypes, troubleshoot issues, and help move designs into production.
*
Focus on making products reliable, easy to assemble, and ready for long-term use.
Requirement for a Senior Mechanical Engineer
*
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
*
5+ years of design experience in high-tech products, like scientific instruments, medical devices, or aerospace.
*
Strong understanding of physics and movement (kinematics).
*
Experience with complex mechanisms and mixed materials (metal, plastics).
*
Experience with optics: mounting and adjusting lenses, mirrors, or sensors.
*
Skilled in 3D CAD (SolidWorks ) and PDM systems.
*
Hands-on experience building and testing prototypes.
Nice-to-Have:
*
Knowledge of electronics shielding (EMC) and automation (motors, actuators).
*
Familiar with industry regulations like CE, UL, or RoHS.
*
Experience testing and validating opto-mechanical systems.
