Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer (Contract)

Outside IR35 | £40–£44 per hour | Berkshire / Hybrid

We’re supporting a long‑standing consultancy client who are looking to engage an experienced Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer on a contract basis to support an ongoing pipeline of work.

The role will initially be site/office‑based in Berkshire 3 days per week, moving to fully remote after the first 4 weeks.

The client’s current workload is heavily focused on retail schemes, so experience in this sector would be advantageous, though not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical building services design across a range of projects
• Work autonomously within a hybrid working arrangement
• Coordinate effectively with multi‑discipline design teams
• Provide technical input and oversight at a senior level

Required Experience

• Strong background in mechanical building services design
• Proven ability to work independently on complex projects
• Experience collaborating within multi‑disciplinary design teams
• Exposure to retail projects (beneficial but not essential)

Software experience with Revit, Hevacomp, IES or Cymap is beneficial but not mandatory.

Contract Details

• Rate: £40–£44 per hour
• IR35 Status: Outside IR35
• Location: Berkshire (3 days per week initially, then fully remote)
