Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services (HVAC)

Location: Cambridge (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading building services engineering consultancy based in Cambridge.

The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will play a key role in project delivery, technical design and team collaboration, contributing to the development of efficient and technically robust building services systems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Producing mechanical building services designs for a variety of projects
Developing HVAC system designs, calculations and specifications
Supporting project delivery across multiple RIBA design stages
Producing technical drawings and design documentation
Collaborating with electrical engineers, structural engineers and architects
Supporting BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design integration
Ensuring designs comply with industry standards, regulations and project requirements
Assisting with project delivery within programme and budget targetsRequirements

To be considered for this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role, candidates should have:

Proven experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer within building services
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles
Experience delivering projects across multiple RIBA stages
Experience working within consultancy or multidisciplinary engineering environments
Ability to produce design calculations and technical documentation
Strong communication and coordination skillsDesirable:

Experience using Revit or BIM software
Progression towards or achievement of Chartered Engineer (CEng) statusWhat's On Offer
