Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: Scientific Instruments

Location: Cambridgeshire

Salary: £50,000-£75,000 (dependant on experience)

Working from early-stage R&D through to full production, they create cutting-edge technologies that drive innovation in advanced diagnostics and engineering. You’ll be joining a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team working on cutting-edge diagnostic and life science technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design complex mechanical components and subsystems
• Full product lifecycle - concept generation, detailed design and design for manufacture
• Create and refine 3D CAD models
• Conduct hands-on prototyping, testing and troubleshooting
• Work across multiple projects within a multidisciplinary engineering team
• Manage your own workload to meet project timelines

Key Requirements:

• Strong 3D CAD skills
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture principles
• Experience developing electro-mechanical systems, medical devices, diagnostics or precision instruments
• Track record of taking products from concept through to production
• Good understanding of manufacturing techniques
• Hands-on and practical skills - prototyping, testing and troubleshooting
