Outsource UK is working with a global engineering leader to recruit Mechanical Design Engineers at multiple levels. Due to continued growth and new product development, our client is looking for engineers ranging from early‑career through to senior leadership level.

You will join a collaborative, high‑performing engineering environment working on complex mechanical systems that support sustainability, environmental protection, and advanced manufacturing. Roles span the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to production, commissioning, and customer delivery.

Mechanical Design Engineer

• Design and develop mechanical components and sub‑assemblies
• Produce 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation
• Support new product introduction (NPI) projects
• Apply design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) principles
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

• Take technical ownership of mechanical designs across projects
• Deliver compliant, high‑quality solutions to time and cost targets
• Drive designs through the full development lifecycle
• Support and mentor junior engineers
• Work closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and project teams

Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

• Lead mechanical engineering activities across multiple programmes
• Provide technical leadership from concept to customer commissioning
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Mentor, develop, and inspire a team of engineers
• Champion engineering best practice and continuous improvement

About You

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience in mechanical design within a complex or regulated environment
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, AutoCAD or similar)
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

Additionally, at senior/lead level:

• Proven experience delivering products across the full lifecycle
• Confidence working with stakeholders across engineering and manufacturing
• Leadership or mentoring experience (essential for Lead level roles)
