Known for their high standards, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering energy-efficient, sustainable building solutions.\nAs they continue to grow, they are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong HVAC focus to support their expanding project portfolio.\nRole Summary:\nThe Mechanical Design Engineer will take ownership of the mechanical (HVAC) design aspects of building services projects from concept to completion. You’ll work closely with our in-house delivery team and external consultants to ensure systems are designed efficiently, meet client requirements, and comply with relevant standards.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Design and specification of HVAC systems including ventilation, heating, cooling, and air conditioning for commercial and public buildings\n\n * Produce technical schematics, layout drawings, and schedules using AutoCAD and/or Revit\n\n * Conduct thermal load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection\n\n * Liaise with architects, consultants, and subcontractors to coordinate design intent and installation practicalities\n\n * Carry out site surveys and attend design team/client meetings\n\n * Ensure compliance with current regulations including CIBSE guides, British Standards, and Building Regulations\n\n * Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases\n\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n\n * HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering\n\n * 3+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC design within the building services industry\n\n * Strong working knowledge of HVAC system design principles and low carbon technologies\n\n * Proficient in AutoCAD and at least one HVAC calculation software (Hevacomp, IES, etc.)\n\n * Familiarity with UK building regulations and industry best practices\n\n * Strong communication and organisational skills\n\nDesirable:\n\n * Experience with Revit MEP and BIM coordination\n\n * Knowledge of LTHW, CHW, VRF/VRV, and natural ventilation systems\n\n * Experience in delivering designs for sectors such as healthcare, education, or commercial offices\n\n * Working towards or already achieved chartership (CIBSE or IMechE)\n\nWhat We Offer:\n\n * Competitive salary and annual bonus\n\n * 25 days holiday + bank holidays\n\n * Pension scheme\n\n * CPD and training opportunities\n\n * A supportive, growing company with a strong team culture
