The successful candidate will be able to come up with great ideas to improve product ranges and project successes, reporting directly to the Engineering Design Manager.\n\nKey Responsibilities Junior Mechanical Design Engineer:\n\n * Ensure quality control of unique specialist mobile equipment designs from conception through to delivery. These will include bespoke rigid vehicles and trailers\n\n * Adopt and enhance designs following the company's established design principles\n\n * Responsible for individual customer orders throughout the design process in all areas, Structure, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Electrics\n\n * Ability to work on short tight deadlines and be capable of driving projects forward; attending meetings with the Engineering Design Manager and other Engineers in the team\n\n * A good working knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety policies, Risk Assessments and Statutory Regulations\n\n * Perform any other reasonable duties in line with business needs\n\nEssential Experience & Qualifications of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:\n\n * Mechanically qualified to degree level and most likely be from a strong 3D modelling background - Solidworks preferred.

Some 2D Drafting required\n\n * A minimum of 6 years’ design experience within heavy industry, ideally (but not essential) related to automotive, commercial vehicle, materials handling, trailers crushing or screening etc.\n\n * Knowledge of design hydraulic / pneumatic and electrical concerns\n\n * Highly motivated as an engineer with good people skills and a passion for innovation\n\n * Ability to work within a small, dedicated team\n\nDesirable Experience for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:\n\n * Experience in trailer or commercial vehicle assembly\n\nWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week\n\nSalary: £40,000 - £52,000 depending on experience\n\nBenefits:\n\n * Competitive hourly rate or salary (based on experience)\n\n * 20 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\n * 2/3 days gifted by the Company for Christmas/New Year\n\n * Early Friday finish time of 3.00pm, for all employees\n\n * Bonus Scheme- In Place for hourly paid Production/Workshop employees\n\n * Overtime available- In Place for hourly paid Production/Workshop employees\n\n * Free on-site Parking\n\n * Convenient location, close to food outlets, green space & parks\n\n * Company team events\n\n * Life Assurance Scheme\n\n * Pension Scheme\n\n * Training and development opportunities\n\nAdditional Information:\n\nOn site working required with limited flexibility for remote working\n\nNo company sick pay.
