Job Description
ROLE- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer\n\nLOCATION - Portsmouth\n\nTERM- Permanent\n\nSALARY - £40,000-£60,000, dependent on experience \n\nMy client is a specialist manufacturer in the Aerospace industry. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth on a permanent basis.\n\nThe Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:\n\nAt least 2 years’ experience in a similar Design / CAD Engineering position\nPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment\nExperience in Aerospace, Automotive, Marine or similar industries would be beneficial  \nBe proficient using 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks\nIdeally Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar\nExcellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, fabrication, castings, machining etc.\nExcellent communication skills both verbal and written\nProficient using MS Office\nExcellent organisational skills and time management skills\nHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team \n\n The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:\n\nUsing CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings\nDesigning vehicle parts, interiors and other large assemblies\nCreating component and assembly models to satisfy customer requirements\nLiaising with manufacturing providers\nProducing the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans\nUpdating 3D models and drawings\nInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs\nChecking drawings for sign off\nWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects \n\n If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible
