Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Tooling) - Siemens NX
Location: Derby (On‑site)

Due to significant investment and long‑term programme growth, we're looking for experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers, with strong Siemens NX skills and a background in tooling, fixtures, jigs, lifting equipment or precision mechanical systems.
Here, you will be joining a powerhouse of the engineering world, working with a talented, multi-disciplinary engineering team, and the chance to collaborate on cutting-edge, meaningful UK programmes with long‑term career potential.
Key Responsibilities
3D modelling and 2D detailing in Siemens NX
Managing design data via Teamcenter (PLM)
Full lifecycle tooling design: requirements → concept → DfM → release
Producing assemblies, sub‑assemblies, BOMs and detailed drawings
Applying GD&T to ASME Y14.5 / BS standards
Supporting gated design reviews and client presentations
Ensuring compliance with safety legislation and UKCA requirementsWhat You'll Bring
Essential:
Strong Siemens NX (3D + 2D)
Proven tooling / jigs / fixtures / lifting equipment design experience
Teamcenter or similar PLM experience
Solid DfM understanding
Confident with GD&TDesirable:
Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defence, heavy engineering, oil & gas
FEA exposure (Abaqus, ANSYS, MathCAD or hand calcs)
Manufacturing or toolmaker backgroundWhy Join?
