This individual will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of M&E systems, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to lead a team of professionals.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Pre-Contract Duties:\n\n * Preparing cost estimates and budgets for projects.\n\n * Assisting with the preparation of tender documentation.\n\n * Evaluating contractor and subcontractor bids.\n\n * Negotiating and awarding contracts.\n\n * \n\n Post-Contract Duties:\n\n * Monitoring project costs and financial reporting.\n\n * Managing variations and change orders.\n\n * Conducting regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with contract terms.\n\n * Preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts.\n\n * Resolving any financial disputes that may arise.\n\n * \n\n Team Leadership and Development:\n\n * Leading a team of junior quantity surveyors and support staff.\n\n * Providing mentorship and guidance to team members.\n\n * Ensuring continuous professional development and training for the team.\n\n * \n\n Client and Stakeholder Management:\n\n * Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.\n\n * Attending project meetings and providing financial insights and updates.\n\nQualifications and Experience:\n\n * Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.\n\n * Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.\n\n * Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in M&E quantity surveying, with a focus on commercial projects.\n\n * Strong understanding of M&E systems and their financial implications.\n\n * Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.\n\n * Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Office, CostX, or similar.\n\nBenefits:\n\n * Competitive salary of £95,000 per annum.\n\n * 25 days of holiday per year.\n\n * 8% pension contribution.\n\n * Opportunities for career progression within a leading M&E contractor.\n\n * Supportive and dynamic work environment
