About Cornerstone Cornerstone is a division within Penguin Random House UK. Cornerstone is home to seven imprints: Century, Del Rey, Inklore, evermore, Hutchinson Heinemann, #Merky Books, and Cornerstone Press, each with its own specific focus and remit. Every Cornerstone book also goes on to become a Penguin paperback. Within publishing, Cornerstone has an enviable track record of bestsellers, prize winners and culture‑shaping books, working with many of the world's most interesting voices, often throughout their entire career. Our books span genres, categories and marketplaces globally. The role This role will create awareness of and engagement for Cornerstone books and authors in order to drive sales and build profiles. We are looking for someone who is keen to work across our publishing from serious non‑fiction and debut writers to repeat fiction brands. The candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues in their team and with other departments and display excellent communication skills. You'll react to sales data and opportunities in the market, communicate campaign performance whilst honing and adapting live campaigns to maximise sales. You'll be highly organised, simultaneously working across multiple campaigns and delivering them on time and within budget. Key responsibilities:
Briefing designers and writing copy to deliver best‑in‑class, attention‑grabbing campaign creative and consumer messaging across all assets and marketing materials. Working closely with our media agency to build well‑targeted campaigns. You'll need strong digital advertising awareness, experience managing freelancers, and the ability to analyse performance and share insights to inform campaigns and team best practice. Devising year‑round campaign plans for key Cornerstone authors, commissioning audience insight and translating data into actionable strategy. Identifying opportunities to grow brand awareness, hands‑on channel management, and clearly communicating plans and results to authors and agents. Being commercially minded, curious and inclusive in your approach. Bringing fresh thinking and innovation into the marketing team by looking beyond the business for ideas and inspiration to improve our work. Combining campaign experience with consumer insight to provide feedback on acquisitions and support the creation of pitch documents for prospective authors. Developing content strategies for social channels and other digital platforms in partnership with authors and across our imprints.

Essential criteria:
Experience producing standout marketing campaigns in the creative industries (ideally within book publishing). Enthusiasm for working on both commercial and literary titles. Excellent knowledge of the latest media opportunities, audience trends and online communities and platforms. Highly organised with excellent time management to be able to juggle concurrent campaigns. Great communication skills to be able to pitch ideas, report back to stakeholders and produce compelling presentation and promotion materials both internally and externally. A collaborative team‑player who shares information openly to build momentum and team cohesion.

Experience working with major author brands and across both fiction and non‑fiction

Salary £32,000 - £38,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
