How You Will Create An Impact Reporting to the Head of Multinational & Retail Cargo you will contribute to the growth of the regional marine business by:
Underwriting new and renewal business. Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing brokers and clients. Building client relationships and carrying out agreed strategies. Delivering technical support and programme administration on an assigned portfolio of cargo multinational & regional accounts. Driving growth through multiple distribution platforms including e‑trade, open market underwriting and facility participation. Obtaining necessary technical underwriting information through liaison with brokers or clients. Liaising on technical service issues with appropriate departments to expedite resolution. Managing pipeline of account activity on a monthly basis with UK Distribution/Broker Relationship Teams.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Advanced working knowledge of the UK cargo business including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks. Detail‑oriented, critical thinking skills, decision‑making based on level of authority, problem‑solving, and competent use of analytical tools and technology. Effective in a dynamic environment, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, able to prioritize multiple tasks. Strong communication skills (written and verbal), collaboration, building trust with colleagues and clients. Financial understanding, appetite for learning about the industry, negotiating and focused on profitable business. Extensive experience in a commercial insurance environment / London Market. CII qualification desirable or progression towards ACII.
