Senior Maintenance Technician

A reputable family amusement park is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to be responsible for maintaining a wide range of machinery and equipment to ensure the site is kept running. The Senior Maintenance Technician will have completed a minimum level 3 in mechanical engineering, have strong experience in engineering, and be able to read and understand technical drawings. In addition, the Senior Maintenance Technician will be able to work at height, be very hands-on and is customer facing. Further requirements are listed below.

Key Responsibilities:

Do full and correct checks, maintenance, and repairs both to schedule and as faults occur

Diagnose mechanical and/or electrical faults or technical problems and proactively determine proper repair solutions and practically deliver them

Check and monitor spare parts stocks and work with colleagues to eliminate machine downtime

Work outdoors and indoors, as required, in varying weather conditions

Maintain equipment and safety records

Make sure maintenance and repairs are carried out correctly and recorded

Oversee documentation of inspection and maintenance works

Ensure high standards are kept

Ensure that the site operates day to day within the requirements of relevant health and safety for the safe use of site equipment and other mandatory health and safety legislation

Assist and advise the maintenance team and directors with safety-related procedures and practices, including equipment monitoring and recording of these practices

Work with independent inspection bodies and later be the primary contact for inspection-related matters

Co-ordinate response of staff and liaise with emergency services if required

Work at elevated heights, including rooftops, and platforms up to 10m

Promote the correct Company image

Cover any duties if required

Assist colleagues when necessary and ensure customers are safe and happy

Be a role model for junior members and maintenance teams, and provide instruction

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Completed a minimum level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar

Have strong experience in engineering and leading a team for 5 years

Have come from a background in either mobile plant, agricultural, military, vehicle mechanics or mechanical engineering

Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics and manuals

Hold a full driving license

High professionalism, proven technical skills, strong problem-solving skills

Excellent teamwork, communication, critical thinking, customer service, and IT skills

Able to work on own initiative and at all levels of the company

Be able to work during certain busy periods across the year, such as bank holidays and weekends

Happy to work in varying weather conditions

Desirable:

Counterbalance forklift license

IPAF 3a & 3b – access equipment license

PASMA – aluminium tower building license

First Aid at Work qualification

Any tool operation, workshop or fabrication qualifications in welding, hydraulic or pneumatic, abrasive wheel training, harness use training, etc.

Salary:  £40,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
