Senior Maintenance Operative
to help us maintain our high standards as we continue to invest in and develop our services.
This is a hands-on role where youll play a key part in ensuring our care environments remain safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for the people who live and work in them.

A
full UK driving licence
is essential for this role, as youll be supporting multiple sites.
The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.
Pay & Hours:
Rate of Pay: £14.42 per hour
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (8am - 5pm)
The Role:
Co-ordinate all minor maintenance work in line with standard and HICA policies and procedures including project work as directed by the Head of Estates and Estates Support Manager.
To be accountable for all work carried out at each service including health & safety
To carry out minor works (small repairs) and small to medium projects as directed
To identify areas in each service that pose a potential issue and report as required
To be responsible for the safe use of all equipment within your direct control including petrol powered, electrically powered and all hand tools as required to carry out the work.
Support the Head of Estates with Health, Safety and Environmental issues, completing Health and Safety compliance checks and provide reports and recommendations
To co-ordinate the agreed purchasing and procurement of materials, services and items as required through the Estates Team.
To ensure that all works are carried out to specification and keeping costs to a minimum at all times, looking for in-house alternatives where feasible.
Experience:
Must have previous experience of general repairs/DIY skills and maintenance
Experience of supervising others
Knowledge of Health and Safety
Effective communication skills
Friendly and compassionate
Able to interact and respond to Service Users
Able to plan and be pro-active in requirements
Experience of working within a care setting would be advantageous
Any relevant qualifications would be beneficial

Based at our Hessle based Head Office, you will join a great maintenance team in very enjoyable surroundings. The HICA Group is a very exciting and rewarding place to work helping to support our residents and service users.
