The Senior Legal Counsel supports the delivery of commercial agreements to support the company's legal interests and business operations. A growing engineering & technology business. Description
Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, collaboration agreements, licences, supply contracts, subcontracts, EPC, EPCI and I&T Data Management. Conduct comprehensive contract reviews, assessing commercial value, complexity, and risk. Lead or support negotiations to secure commercially effective, legally robust contracts across global markets. Manage contract amendments, renewals, variations, and invoicing throughout the contract lifecycle. Oversee contract execution, ensuring timely authorisation, delivery against obligations, and contract administration. Provide strategic advice on commercial risk, mitigation strategies, and contracting approaches. Ensure internal stakeholders clearly understand contractual obligations and commercial requirements. Maintain, update, and streamline contract templates, playbooks, and documentation processes. Support the resolution of commercial issues with customers, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders. Manage or support claims and disputes, including handling all relevant legal correspondence. Ensure compliance with internal policies, company standards, and applicable legal/regulatory requirements. Contribute to the development and implementation of internal policies on key compliance areas Support senior management with contract planning, approvals, governance, and oversight activities.
Profile
Qualified Commercial Lawyer in common law jurisdiction with atleast 7 years experience Strong capability to independently draft, review, negotiate, and amend commercial contracts, supported by solid analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, commercial risk assessment, and compliance, with good financial and commercial awareness. Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities, deliver under pressure, and maintain excellent communication, stakeholder management, and attention to detail. Proactive in improving contract management processes, experienced with contract renewals and variations, proficient in Microsoft Office (CML beneficial), and able to deliver training on contract management and legal compliance.
