Job Summary

RegWise is a SAAS business operating in the RegTech space, providing an end-to end, fully automated solution to the perennial question for risk owners, 'How compliant am I?'

Using a suite of proprietary AI tools and a platform developed in conjunction with Banking Compliance Officers and Regulatory lawyers, RegWise has ensured that the DNA of practitioners is baked into the heart of the service.

We are hiring a Senior Legal & Regulatory Counsel to lead across two critical domains:

  • Commercial & contractual legal matters involving clients and vendors
  • Regulatory product leadership, contributing directly to the evolution of the Regwise platform
  • This role is ideal for a lawyer with strong UK financial services regulatory expertise who wants to work at the intersection of law, compliance, and AI product development.

    You will work closely with founders, product, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure contractual robustness and that our product reflects real-world regulatory complexity.

    Skills and Experience

    Experienced in Regulated Financial Services

    ● 5+ years of experience either in compliance functions in a regulated environment, or in a law firm or Big 4 advisory practice advising regulated financial institutions on regulatory matters.

    ● Strong understanding of UK financial services regulatory frameworks

    ● Practical knowledge of how regulatory obligations are interpreted, implemented, and evidenced inside firms

    Legal & Commercial Foundation

    ● Law degree (LLB or equivalent)

    ● Ability to serve as an in-house Legal Counsel with responsibility for providing legal advice within an organisation or Experience in private practice advising financial institutions on regulatory matters, or within a Big 4 regulatory consulting practice.

    ● Ability to review and advise on commercial contracts, including client and vendor agreements

    ● Comfortable acting as the company's primary internal legal reviewer and assessing contractual risk autonomously

    ● UK-based with valid right to work in the UK
