SENIOR HYDROLOGIST\n Birmingham\n Hybrid working available\n Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 plus benefits\n\nNew year, new job. Are you a Senior Hydrologist looking to move away from rigid corporate structures and into a consultancy where your expertise genuinely shapes outcomes? This is an opportunity to join a leading environmental consultancy where your technical input is visible, valued and influential.\n\nYou will be based from the Birmingham office, working closely with a regional water and environmental team while contributing to projects across the Midlands and wider UK.

The role spans flood risk, drainage and water resources work for both public and private sector clients, supporting developments wherever they are located while remaining anchored to a flexible hybrid working arrangement.\n\nThe role\n\nAs a Senior Hydrologist, you will lead technical delivery while supporting team development and project performance.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n* Leading Flood Risk Assessments, SuDS strategies and hydrological modelling\n * Producing high-quality technical reports for planning and development projects\n * Supporting projects from feasibility through to detailed design and delivery\n * Liaising with clients, local authorities and statutory bodies\n * Ensuring solutions are practical, compliant and cost-effective\n * Mentoring junior engineers and sharing technical expertise\n * Keeping up to date with legislation, guidance and best practice\n\nAbout you\n\nThis role suits a capable Senior Hydrologist ready to progress.\n\nYou will ideally have:\n\n* A degree in Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering or a related discipline\n * 3 to 5 years' professional experience in flood risk and drainage\n * Chartered status or progression toward it\n * Experience using FEH, WinFAP FEH, Flood Modeller, TuFLOW or HEC-RAS\n * Strong communication, project management and mentoring skills\n\nEligibility to Apply\n\nApplicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
