Core purpose Leading on technical aspects of conducting hydrographic survey operations including vessel mobilisation, data acquisition, processing and reporting of hydrographic data.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities Ensuring all equipment/sensors in use are kept in good condition. Assisting the vessel master in issues of safety. Correct use of the survey equipment and software and reporting any misuse or issues to the chief surveyor/technical manager. Checking hire kit in/out against packing lists provided by the hire company. Ensuring that all equipment is cleaned and correctly packed away on demobilisation from project. Ensuring that all data is copied onto an external HDD and that the processing manager is made aware in advance that data will be arriving.
