Job Purpose
We’re currently looking to recruit for a Senior Practitioner on a Permanent Basis. You will manage up to five major Human Factors (HF) projects in key business areas such as Operations, Technology, or Airspace. Ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality, and scope, balancing resources and customer needs. They work closely with external technical peers (e.g. ATC, Tech Safety, Validation).
DUTIES
- Build and maintain relationships with programme customers and stakeholders, acting as the main contact for delivery
- Collaborate with technical peers and Business Process Experts to improve delivery efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure resourcing reflects all customer requests for their projects
- Deliver technical work as required across programmes
- Ensure compliance with NATS processes
- Provide ad-hoc HF expertise to customers and projects
- Scope, plan, implement, and report on complex technical tasks with minimal guidance, coordinating with peers
- Identify and escalate conflicts or concerns to the appropriate manager
- Complete tasks on time, to quality standards, and customer satisfaction, including technical analysis and deliverables
- Respond to queries, advise, and influence customers with minimal guidance
- Represent and promote the HF team internally and externally, building a strong network
- Coach and mentor junior team members on technical and non-technical matters
- MSc or BSc in Human Factors or related field (e.g. Psychology, Biomechanics)
- Significant HF experience in safety-critical industries
- Registered member of a recognised HF institute (e.g. CIEHF, BPS) or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to work independently and influence change in multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated success in leading projects and delivering solutions to tight deadlines
- Commercial acumen and experience with internal and external customers.
- Strong track record in HF within safety-critical environments or equivalent academic background
- Comfortable with ambiguity, able to assimilate unfamiliar information and provide sound HF advice aligned with regulations and NATS’ Safety Management System
