The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in conducting geotechnical investigations and managing site operations. You will be responsible for managing teams, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams—engineering, environmental, and construction—to support rail infrastructure projects and help in the development of system and processes to achieve robust and consistent deliverables.\n\nBenefits:\n\nFlexible Working\nHybrid Working Model\n36 days holiday (inc BH)\n3 standdown days per year\nGym membership\nGenerous bonus structure\nGroup Life Assurance\nOvertime and weekend pay\nCompany vehicle\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and manage all geotechnical drilling activities, ensuring efficient and safe project execution.\nProvide support and mentorship for graduate engineers.\nLead all quality control of site data acquisition.\nSite logging\nReport writing.\nPhase 1 & 2 and Geoenvironmental reports.\nCoordinate with clients and stakeholders, managing paperwork and reporting.\nCollaborate closely with engineering, environmental, and construction teams to drive the development of rail infrastructure projects.\nOversee field operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.\nProvide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site personnel.\nRequirements:\n\nBachelor's or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.\nSSSTS/CSCS.\nExtensive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a solid understanding of geotechnical investigations, design, and reporting.\nProficiency in geotechnical design software (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS, etc.)\nStrong understanding of soil mechanics, ground engineering, and foundation design\nExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and client relationships\nFull UK driving license\nDesirable:\n\nKnowledge of gINT, Holebase or other logging software.\nRock and Soil logging training.\nPTS.\nWhat next\n\nFor more information about this exciting opportunity, simply click the Apply Now button.
