An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a well-established and growing environmental and geotechnical consultancy in Basingstoke. This role offers the chance to work on a wide range of brownfield redevelopment and contaminated land projects across the UK, with clear progression into leadership.

The Role

As a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technically robust and commercially aware solutions across a diverse project portfolio. You will be responsible for managing projects from initial site investigation through to remediation and verification.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and delivering geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects Designing and overseeing ground investigations Interpreting geotechnical and chemical data and producing factual and interpretive reports Conducting Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Site Investigations Risk assessments (human health, groundwater, and gas) Designing remediation strategies and verification reporting Liaising with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team developmentRequirements

Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline 5+ years' experience in a geoenvironmental or contaminated land role Strong knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance Experience with risk assessment tools (e.g., CLEA) Excellent report writing and communication skills Full UK driving licenceDesirable

Chartered status (or working towards) with a relevant body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, or Geological Society) Experience managing projects and client relationships Knowledge of geotechnical principlesBenefits
