Salary: £45,000
A well-established brownfield development contractor and consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer in Warrington to take ownership of site-based delivery across a range of remediation and earthworks schemes.
You'll be regularly present on site, providing practical direction to site teams, identifying risks early, and working with Contracts Managers and Technical staff to resolve issues efficiently. Once works are complete, you'll pull together validation reports using testing data and as-built records.
The role will involve:
Checking that works on site are being carried out in line with drawings, specs, and agreed strategies
Tracking progress against the programme and raising any concerns early
Carrying out and overseeing in-situ and laboratory testing, sampling, and monitoring
Keeping accurate site records, including diaries, photos, and as-built information
Identifying poor workmanship or materials and agreeing remedial actions with senior staff
Monitoring health and safety standards on site
Overseeing remedial works when needed
Coordinating geotechnical and chemical testing, environmental monitoring, and survey works
Working to Highways England Specification for Highway Works, particularly Series 600 (Earthworks)
Preparing clear, concise validation and verification reports
Supporting communication with regulators throughout the project
Escalating unexpected ground conditions where they fall outside agreed strategy or experience
Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical improvements within the businessEssential Criteria
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to work away from home when projects require it
relevant degree or technical background in geoenvironmental, geotechnical, or civil engineering
Live within a commutable distance from Warrington office
