We believe that effective communication is just as essential as technical expertise, ensuring advice is both accurate and clearly conveyed.\n\nThe Role\n\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our expanding Geoenvironmental Division within our Manchester office. You will become part of a supportive and rewarding environment where you can achieve your full potential.\n\nThis role is primarily office-based, supporting the delivery of development schemes for both public and private sector clients across the UK.\n\nYou will lead, plan and manage geoenvironmental site investigations and produce associated reports across multiple sectors. Your experience will also be invaluable in mentoring and developing junior members of the team.\n\nYou'll join a friendly, inclusive and flexible workplace where professional growth is encouraged, and you'll play a key role in helping clients make informed decisions that shape their projects and communities.\n\nIf you're looking for a role with genuine prospects for career progression, we'd be delighted to hear from you.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage all stages of geoenvironmental projects, including financial oversight, technical input into proposals, coordination of resources, subcontractor management, timescales and project performance.\nUse relevant software and technical guidance to assess, model and interpret data to achieve project objectives.\nPrepare and technically review a wide range of interpretative geoenvironmental reports that provide practical solutions for clients.\nApply relevant British Standards, legislation and industry guidance accurately.\nLead or contribute to tender submissions and proposal development.\nOversee day-to-day financial management and profitability of projects.\nIdentify new opportunities and support business growth initiatives.\nBuild and strengthen internal and external client relationships.\nMake timely and cohesive project decisions for the benefit of the team and client.\nShare knowledge with and support the development of junior staff.\nPromote and adhere to strong Health & Safety standards.\nCommit to ongoing CPD and work toward chartership.\nCommunicate professionally with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.\nCompetently procure and manage subcontractors, including preparing specifications and contract documentation (ICC/NEC).\nContribute positively to office culture and team cohesion.\n\nYou & Your Experience\n\nBachelor's degree in a relevant subject, with an MSc or similar qualification .\nEquivalent experience will also be considered.\nMinimum of five years' experience in geoenvironmental work, including ground engineering and contaminated land assessments.\nProven experience in undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments, supervising and reporting on geoenvironmental and geotechnical investigations, and preparing remediation strategies and verification reports.\nStrong work ethic with the ability to work independently or within small teams.\nClient-focused with a proven record of successful project delivery.\nExcellent communication and personal effectiveness skills.\nStrong IT skills, including advanced proficiency in MS Office.\nEffective problem-solving abilities with a practical, solution-led approach.\nAbility to collaborate well and build productive relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.\nFull UK driving licence (manual).\nMembership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA, IES) and working towards or holding chartership (CGeol, CEng).\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nCompetitive salary, reviewed annually.\nOpportunity to work a 9‑day fortnight.\nCompany-matched pension scheme.\n25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service.\nExtensive training opportunities and supported CPD.\nEmployee Assistance Programme offering counselling and legal support.\nOpportunities for volunteering and community involvement.\nSummer and winter team-building events.\nAnnual Christmas celebration
