Our client is an innovative and growing engineering-led organisation operating within the Consumer Electronics / Mobility sector. They are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join their team and play a key role in developing embedded software for next-generation products. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from early-stage prototyping through to production and manufacturing, within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities
Develop clean, efficient, and scalable embedded software in C/C++ Work closely with hardware engineers on board bring-up, debugging, and validation activities Design, implement, and maintain firmware for embedded systems, including motor control, sensor integration, and low‑level drivers Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to real-time performance, timing, and signal integrity Contribute to system architecture, coding standards, and long‑term platform strategy
Candidate Profile Our client is looking for a motivated and proactive engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and a passion for solving complex technical challenges. Essential skills and experience
Proven experience in embedded software development Strong programming skills in C and C++ Experience across the software development lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, testing) Hands‑on experience with embedded communication protocols such as BLE, CAN, I2C, UART, or SPI Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g. ISO 13849 or ISO 26262) Experience with electric motors or inverter-driven systems would be highly advantageous Familiarity with RTOS‑based development Experience using Python for tooling or automation Exposure to CI/CD environments (e.g. Jenkins, Docker) Experience with version control systems such as Git
