Role Overview

:Avis Budget Group have an opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills to join the Finance team as a Senior Financial Accountant within our high-performing EMEA team


.
The Senior Financial Accountant will be a key member of the finance team, working with a strong team in the UK as well as across the various countries including mainland Europe, our global headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey, and our shared service centre in Budapest, Hungary. This is a highly visible position where you will have an integral role in the reporting process of a multi-entity Business Unit, with the opportunity to communicate meaningful insights to the busines

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the individual will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial close process, and delivering internal and external reporting deadlines, including ensuring compliance with the control environment defined by the SOx framework and US GAAP accounting ru


les.
Key Responsibili

  • ties:Taking full ownership of the monthly close process for multiple entities, including identifying and creating efficiencies in the close and reporting pro
  • cess.Reconciling intercompany loan and interest balances on a monthly b
  • asis.Maintaining intercompany matrix to ensure balances agree between entities and reconciling where neces
  • sary.Reviewing and analysing results during the monthly close to provide commentary on variances against fore
  • cast.Preparing monthly balance sheet flux commen
  • tary.Preparing statutory financial statements for EMEA entities under FR
  • S102.Completing balance sheet reconciliations, working to specifications set out in Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) cont
  • rols.Taking responsibility for internal and external audit requirements, ensuring agreed timelines are
  • met.Maintaining financial controls and assisting in SOx compliance programme including documenting process f
  • lows.Communicating expectations and providing guidance where needed to country teams and the shared service ce
  • ntre.Ad hoc financial accounting tasks as assigned by the Group Finance Man

Require

  • ments:Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent) - 2+ years post qualified pref
  • erred.Experience with FRS 102 and an international GAAP (IFRS/US
  • GAAP).Strong experience with preparation of financial state
  • ments.Experience with a control-based audit app
