Senior Finance Manager - Operational Finance, Watford JSS Search are pleased to be supporting our client, a growing successful well known UK business based in Watford, on the recruitment on this newly created Senior Finance Manager role. This is a great opportunity for an experienced operational Finance Manager who can drive change, improve processes, controls and reconciliations and also lead cross functional teams; AP, AR, Cash & Treasury, across several systems improvement projects. Great opportunity for someone with large company general ledger and projects or shared service centre projects experience. The Role This newly created Senior Finance Manager role will be responsible for partnering multiple finance teams and stakeholders, will led several system improvement projects with responsibility for:
Leading the efficient month-end close for the AP, AR, and General Ledgers, ensuring all transactions are captured and revalued accurately. Proactively identifying and resolves ledger inconsistencies to maintain a clean trial balance and provide a reliable 'single source of truth' for the wider Finance team and external auditors. Responsibility for providing technical and analytical support to the Accounts Payable, Cash & Banking, and Rebates teams, ensuring the integrity of complex, high-volume reconciliations. Supervising and reviewing critical month-end balances—including Goods in Transit, Goods Received Not Invoiced, and Store Cash Proactively identifying and resolves discrepancies to ensure all retail revenue is accurately captured and banked, acting as a key point of escalation for transactional problem-solving and process improvements across the estate. Responsibility for maintaining and updating the framework of key financial and material controls across the transaction and systems environment. Ensuring that all control activities are performed consistently and that process documentation remains accurate and aligned with Group policies. Supporting the interim and year-end audit cycles by coordinating the delivery of audit requirements for the transaction and systems areas. Acts as a key point of contact for auditor queries Collaborating with the wider finance team to address audit recommendations, assisting in the implementation of improved controls and processes to resolve any identified gaps
Profile
An experienced Finance Manager with experience of AP & AR, Cash & Treasury transactional processes, ERP systems and projects Experience managing stakeholders, cross functional teams and managing change Ability to lead projects, manage stakeholders and deliver projects Experience improving controls, processes, reconciliations
