Job Type: Temporary Contract Location: Leeds Hourly Rate: £36.55 (roughly equivalent to £275 per day)
We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to lead our Finance Partnering team (2 direct reports). This role involves providing strategic financial advice and support to senior stakeholders, driving performance, and ensuring the efficient use of resources across the organisation. You would be joining the business during a time of new exciting investment opportunities and at a time of lots of change where no two days would look the same! This position is ideal for a part-qualified or qualified accountant with extensive experience in financial management of commercial investments within complex organisations. Day-to-day of the role
Lead the Finance Business Partnering team, providing direction and support to ensure alignment with the organisation\'s vision. Offer strategic financial advice to Directors and senior stakeholders, facilitating optimal resource use over a multi-year horizon. Champion partnership working both within and outside the organisation, integrating the function\'s work with broader organisational goals. Develop and manage the Directorate(s) business partnering function, ensuring all budget holders are supported with meaningful financial information. Provide robust financial challenge and professional recommendations to support innovative solutions to funding problems. Oversee month-end procedures, the annual budgeting cycle, and quarterly forecasting to ensure accurate and meaningful financial management. Maintain high standards of governance and financial control to safeguard public money.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field. Qualified accountant, member of CCAB or CIMA. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a Local Authority or Police environment, or within transport, property or energy & renewables. Significant experience in setting and managing both revenue and capital budgets. Strong understanding of financial and commercial controls, national financial policy, and financial reporting standards. Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team, including performance management and recruitment.
