The Opportunity

Lex Exec is instructed by a market leading London law firm to recruit an Employment Associate or Senior Associate into its specialist senior executive practice.

This role sits within a large and highly regarded employment team but focuses specifically on advising individuals rather than employers. The practice is recognised for handling some of the most sensitive and high value employment matters in the market, often with a regulatory or reputational overlay.

The team advises senior executives, founders, board directors, partners, consultants, and equity holders at critical points in their careers. Matters are complex, strategic, and frequently business critical for the individuals involved.

The Work

You will support partners while also running your own matters with appropriate supervision. The work is varied, technical, and intellectually demanding, and typically includes:

• Advising senior individuals on contentious employment matters
• Discrimination, whistleblowing, and unfair dismissal claims
• High value contract and bonus disputes
• Employment Tribunal, Appeals Tribunal, and High Court litigation
• Advising on negotiated exits with complex contractual and reputational considerations
• Matters arising in regulated environments, particularly within financial services

The emphasis is firmly on quality rather than volume, with a focus on sophisticated advisory and disputes work.

The Team and Environment

You will join a specialist group dedicated solely to advising senior individuals, embedded within a wider employment practice with significant depth and international reach.

About You

This role is likely to suit a lawyer who:

• Has around 3 to 6 years PQE in employment law
• Has solid grounding in core employment law including unfair dismissal and discrimination
• Is interested in advising individuals, particularly senior executives and equity holders
• Enjoys high value, sensitive, and strategic work
• Is ambitious, curious, and commercially minded
• Is comfortable dealing directly with clients and taking ownership of matters
• Wants to develop business development and profile building skills

Prior senior executive experience is helpful but not essential. A genuine enthusiasm for this type of work is key.
